We Prioritise Positive Reinforcement Strategies

Our club is affiliated with the South Australian Canine Association and as such abides by its rules and conditions in handling dogs.

At Gepps Cross Dog Training Centre, we prioritise positive reinforcement strategies to foster a strong bond between you and your furry friend. Our club stands by a set of essential rules, with one of the most crucial being our emphasis on reprimand solely through voice.

We create a safe and encouraging environment where positive reinforcement takes centre stage. We understand that dogs respond best to praise, and we leverage this knowledge to teach and shape desired behaviors. By focusing on positive reinforcement, we aim to build confidence, trust, and mutual respect between you and your dog.

Focus on Community: More than Just a Training Centre

What sets Gepps Cross Dog Training Centre apart is our emphasis on creating a vibrant community of dog lovers. We believe that dog training extends beyond the one-on-one sessions—it’s about building a supportive network of fellow dog owners. Our club organises regular social events and gatherings, allowing members to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and form lasting friendships.

Our focus on community engagement makes us more than just a training centre—it makes us a home for all those passionate about their four-legged companions.

Dog accessories are available for purchase from the club.

Training Styles & Philosophy

Without a doubt MDT is reward based training (+R and -P), and we focus on setting the dog up for success. We utilise modern training techniques (including primary and secondary reinforcers) and our programs focus on phasing away food so your dog happily does what you expect it to without the need to always have food at hand. The proven, modern techniques of counterconditioning, desensitisation and differential reinforcement of incompatible behaviours (D.R.I.) are the best way to achieve long lasting results.
